This course is designed to support educators in providing students with key digital safety and cybersecurity skills by using the Cyber in Minecraft credential program available to schools across the state.
Cyber in Minecraft is a cybersecurity credential program, delivered through Minecraft Education. The program is available at no cost to schools in Wyoming through a partnership between the Wyoming Department of Education, Prodigy Learning and Microsoft.
The program comprises of three units where students learn cybersecurity concepts including Digital Citizenship, Networking and Security with formative assessments before attempting the cybersecurity capstone credential exam.
The credential program enables students to gain a solid foundation in critical cybersecurity skills and helps them to remain safe online preparing them for the challenges that exist in today’s digital world and providing them skills for in-demand job roles.
The Cyber in Minecraft Certified Educator is available either as a self-paced online course supported by the team at Prodigy Learning and is also offered instructor-led virtually throughout the year. The course totals approximately six hours of content (for instructor-led this is split across three 2-hour sessions).
